West Housing Market Area Executive

The West Housing Market Area Executive is the principal vehicle for high level coordination and delivery at a sub regional level, involving elected members, assistant directors of Shropshire and Herefordshire Councils, the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA), West Midlands Regional Assembly (WMRA), Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) and Government Office West Midlands (GOWM).  It meets quarterly and agrees matters such as the Sub Regional Housing Strategy, the signing off of funding allocations and monitoring progress against joint delivery.

The Standing Conference

The Standing Conference provides a format for data exchange, operational debate, and feedback with a range of partners.  A conference orientated event with speakers and question and answer sessions, meeting on average twice a year, it provides opportunities to debate key issues and feed back on good practice.  It has an inter-disciplinary membership and includes adjoining local housing market areas.  Invitees include Member Champions, Registered Social Landlords, the Private Sector, the Third sector, the Local Strategic Partnership, Housing Managers, Homelessness Managers, Supporting People Managers, Housing Development /Enabling Managers, Growth Point Managers, Economic Development Managers, Social Care representatives, Primary Care Trust representatives, Community Safety representatives, Children and Young Peoples Services, Homes and Communities Agency, Government Office West Midlands and the West Midlands Regional Assembly.

Herefordshire's Housing Partnership and the Shropshire Housing Forum

Herefordshire's Housing Partnership and the Shropshire Housing Forum provide opportunities for strategic liaison between the Chief Executives of Registered Social Landlords, the Homes and Communities Agency, the Tenant Services Authority and the Assistant Directors of the Councils.  The Development and Management Sub Groups facilitate liaison between officers and their private sector equivalents at an senior operational level.
